Clearfield Motors was built to be the used car dealership that Tom Clearfield always wished existed when he was a buyer.
Founded 2004
Tom started Clearfield after 20 years on the other side of the car business.
After managing a Nashville franchised dealership for 8 years, Tom Clearfield had learned exactly how the car business works — including the parts he didn’t respect. In 2004 he leased a lot on Nolensville Pike, bought 30 vehicles at auction, and opened Clearfield Motors with a simple premise: sell good cars at fair prices, be straight with customers, and let the reputation build itself.
That model has worked. Twenty years later, Clearfield Motors carries 200+ vehicles, has financed thousands of Nashville families, and maintains a 4.8-star average across Google and Facebook on the strength of repeat customers and referrals.

Every car earns its spot on our lot.
We buy vehicles at auction and from private sellers. Before any car goes on our lot, our in-house mechanic performs a 100-point inspection covering engine, transmission, drivetrain, brakes, suspension, and electrical systems. Vehicles that don’t pass go to wholesale, not to our customers.
